Continuum: Arts & Eats First Friday Opening Reception & Pamela E. Becker Artist Talk

Continuum highlights the work of two Philadelphia area female artists, painter Jan Morgen and fiber artist Pamela E. Becker. GLG brings them into dialogue about the dedication they apply to their artistic practices, spanning decades. Both artists explore materials with a keen awareness of detail; one layering pigment with mark making and the other coiling embroidery thread into large scale vessels. Their time consuming processes invite healing and contemplative states of being: stitch by stitch; row by row; layer, mark, scrape, paint, repeat. Patterns, symbols and color play off each other in this serene pairing of painting and basketry.

There will be live music, refreshments, and light snacks 5-8pm. Pamela E. Becker will be giving an artist talk at 6:30.
