Join us Thursday, January 25 from 5:30–7:30 pm for the opening reception of Reimagining a Holiday Classic: Costume Designs Inspired by The Nutcracker, a student exhibition in The Galleries at Moore, in collaboration with the Philadelphia Ballet.

Enjoy a special performance by Philadelphia Ballet II dancers, featuring costumes designed by Moore Fashion Design juniors, and celebrate our students’ achievements. Light refreshments will be served.

This collaboration between Moore and Philadelphia Ballet is part of the Ballet’s award-winning Community Education and Public Programs, which provides rich access to dance creating a connection to the arts. As part of Moore’s Apparel Design Studio One course, junior-year Fashion Design students worked directly with Philadelphia Ballet during the fall 2023 semester to design and create costumes for four characters. From initial concepting to designs, fittings and photography, students acted as professional costume designers under the advisement of Moore faculty. The pieces were professionally photographed and displayed at The Academy of Music during Philadelphia Ballet’s December run of The Nutcracker, and will now be on view in The Galleries at Moore, beginning January 25.

Please RSVP to schanda@moore.edu by January 22.
